Atrioventricular septal defect: An extended approach to prenatal sonographic imaging of the atrioventricular valves

چکیده
An atrioventricular septal defect (AVSD) is diagnosed with prenatal sonography using the 4-chamber view (4CV) of fetal heart. Prenatal 2D sonographic imaging normal and AVSD short axis (SAX) (AV) valve views have not been well described. The aim to describe SAX AV valves when an present compared valves. 4CV heart demonstrates no offset due abnormal structure. Complete intermediate has a septum primum inlet ventricular (VSD). partial AVSDs either or just VSD intact septum. common junction bridging leaflets. In diastole “figure 8” “dumbbell” shape in complete AVSD, respectively. These appearances are seen as both tricuspid mitral separate can be obtained by locating sagittal aortic arch then scanning slightly towards left side fetus, near base in-depth interrogation without specialised 4D capable ultrasound machines providing information assist counselling during pregnancy for postnatal surgical planning. Future research assess feasibility incorporating into routine practice general sonographers suggested.

Atrioventricular septal defect in prenatal life.
In a series of more than 3500 pregnancies referred for fetal echocardiography, 29 cases of atrioventricular septal defect were detected in the fetus. There was a chromosomal anomaly in 14 of these cases, left atrial isomerism in 12, and right atrial isomerism in two. Complete heart block was found in 11 of the cases with left atrial isomerism. Many associated cardiac abnormalities were found, p...
متن کاملPrenatal diagnosis of complete atrioventricular septal defect with truncus arteriosus.
Truncus arteriosus (TA) is a rare cardiac anomaly constituting less than 1% of all congenital heart defects. Its association with complete atrioventricular septal defect (AVSD) is extremely unusual and only 12 cases diagnosed postnatally or postmortem have been reported so far. We describe the first case of truncus arteriosus with AVSD to be diagnosed prenatally by fetal echocardiography.

متن کاملFamilial atrioventricular septal defect: possible genetic mechanisms.
BACKGROUND Most non-chromosomal congenital heart defects are thought to be caused by the interaction of genetic factors involving multiple genes and environmental factors. Families that have several affected members have been reported, however, which suggests that a single autosomal dominant or recessive gene may cause the cardiac defects. A family in which atrioventricular septal defect seemed...
